New premium line of melamine-faced MDF (MFMDF) core TV backboards - specifically designed to offer a solid stone appearance without using chipboard. This product features a synchronized textured lacquered surface that provides an authentic, matt-gloss finish.

F128 Black Ambiance Granite combines authenticity and innovation in an attractive way. The dark colouring of the stone in shades of blue and anthracite brings a look of exclusivity to the room, which pairs well in a wide variety of combinations including with dark woods and tones of blue. The innovative PA PerfectSense Premium Ambiance lacquered surface combines a matt-gloss effect with synchronised textured depth, creating a luxurious look and feel. The visual and tactile authenticity, combined with the functional anti-fingerprint properties of the predominantly matt surface, make it an attractive decor for use on feature walls.

Fitting Instructions for TV Backboard

Tools & Materials Needed:

  • Drill and appropriate drill bits
  • Screws (at least 6 recommended)
  • Screwdriver or impact driver
  • Spirit level
  • Stud finder
  • Measuring tape
  • Timber for framing (2x1 dressed timber or similar)
  • Wall anchors (if not fixing into studs)
  • LED strip kit (optional)
  • TV wall bracket (optional)
  • Saw/router for cable access hole
  • Pencil and masking tape for marking

1. Electrical Preparation

  • Install a power socket: Ensure a socket is installed at the desired height and location on the wall where your TV will plug in.

  • Mark and router a cable access hole: On the backboard, choose a spot that will be hidden once the TV is mounted. Use a router or hole saw to create an access point for cables.

2. Frame the Wall

  • Build a frame using timber: Use 2x1 dressed timber or suitable cut-offs to create a timber framework on the wall. This creates a recess behind the backboard (approx. 18mm, matching the board thickness).

  • Leave a 50mm border: Position framing timber at least 50mm in from each edge of the backboard to keep it hidden once installed.

  • Pack out the center: Add support in the center area to prevent the board from flexing or bowing when screwed to the wall.

3. Mark Stud Locations

  • Use a stud finder to locate studs in the wall.

  • Mark the stud positions on the floor or base of the wall using masking tape for reference when placing the board.

4. Mount the Backboard

  • Position the backboard: Rest it on a stable support to hold it in place during installation (e.g. blocks or a second person).

  • Align with the studs and ensure it is level.

  • Fix the board to the wall: Screw through the backboard into the studs, using a minimum of 6 screws. Place screws where they will be hidden by the mounted TV.

5. Optional Add-ons

  • LED Lighting: Fit the LED strip around the back of the board in the recess created by the frame. Ensure cable management routes through the access hole.

  • TV Bracket: Install the TV bracket directly onto the front of the backboard following the bracket's own fitting guide. Ensure you screw into reinforced points of the board and framing for security.
